Graham Peter McRae (5 March – 4 August ) was a racing driver from New Zealand. He achieved considerable success in Formula racing, winning the Tasman Series each year from to , [1] and also at the L&M Continental Championship in the United States. [2].McRae was one of the Best know in Australia and New Zealand, McRae was one of the best F drivers around. He won the Tasman series on three occasions and the Australian GP (pre F1) four times. His F1 Championship career lasted just one lap in Frank Williams' Iso-Marlboro-Cosworth IR01 in the British Grand Prix. With deteriorating mental health, he passed away in a secure care home at the age of
Graham McRae (born 5 Graham McRae was a successful engineer/driver much in the mould of Bruce McLaren. In he was awarded the Driver to Europe scholarship and showed a promising start in Formula 2. Often driving cars he had designed, he was a consistent winner of F in Australasia, Great Britain and America.
Born in Wellington in 1940, Graham McRae goes on racing until the end of the eighties but without success. He tries a bit of CART in 19but stays at the back of the grids. He also drives at Bathurst in , during the well-known km race, certainly the most famous race in the Southern hemisphere.
